this is one of my new favorite past times with you. its not secret to daddy and i that you are very smart, intellectual and very curious. you love to learn things, watch programs, learn activities and you are so naturally good at reading, even if you are like mumma and have to find something you WANT to read before you do it :) so when you told me you dont like reading books, i was determined to find another way to practicereading and keep you engaged. and found a GREAT way! its bonding, reading, writing and art all in one. its an app on the tablet called Draw Something. its simple, you have a list of words, you read them, pick one and then you draw it and it gets sent to me and i have to guess and then its my turn to do the same for you. you cant read all the words, and sometimes your drawings stem from your limited knowledge of the world (i.e. the sundae up top. THAT is your only exposure to Sundaes. its a reference from sesame street where oscar eats a mint chip fish sundae. we've watched that episode a few times and i laughed when i got it...it made me realize maybe i should give in and let you have a real sundae :)
or sometimes i have to just guess based on your personality. this one, above, was baby. i couldnt figure it out for a few minutes, but then it hit me. laying on the ground crying. a baby!
and this one was super super sweet. you are using arrows and logic and its really adorable.
we are on a 40 word streak right now and i couldnt be more proud. sometimes you give up and we come back a day or two later, but i love seeing your logic, your brain making connections and knowing you are learning to read and write (while you read very well at around a 1st grade level, you have a ittle struggle with writing the sounds, so its nice to give you letters to choose from!)
just know, i love to challenge your brain. i love to see you grow and get curious. you are fascinating and beautiful to me. and ill never stop loving watching you become more and more the Julian that you are.
love you boogs!
